City Administration

The City of Newport operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The City Manager is the administrative head of the city government, and is appointed by the Mayor and City Council.

Ted Smith is the Interim City Manager. The City Manager's staff includes Cindy Breves (Executive Assistant), Richard Dutton (IT Manager), Tad Taylor, (IT Assistant), Jim Salisbury (Safety Coordinator) and Peggy Hawker (City Recorder/Special Projects Director).
