May has been proclaimed as Older Americans Month. This year's theme is "Blaze a Trail!" We encourage you to get involved at the 60+ Activity Center by volunteering or attending one or more events or classes. Help us "Blaze a Trail" of wellness for older Americans.
A FREE Tai Chi Refresher class will be held Saturday, May 28, 8:30 AM until 2:30 PM at the Samaritan Education Center. This class is for those instructors who have been certified by master trainer Suman Barkhas in the past. Please contact the 60+ Activity Center, 541-265-9617, to register.
On Saturday, May 28, 3:30-6:30 p.m., Suman Barkhas, Master Trainer from Eugene, will be leading a Medical Qigong Instructor Certification class in the Health and Wellness Studio at the Newport 60+ Activity Center. Cost of the class is $110.00 or $125.00 with instructional DVD. Space is limited to 10-15 participants. Would you like assistance with your computer, iPad, smart phone, Facebook account? Tech Help 101 sessions are available Mondays and Tuesdays, 2:30-4:30 PM, by appointment.
ACBL Bridge Refresher Class begins Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 pm, for more information contact Mike Rickus at 541-574-1938. This will be a 8-week refresher course for experienced players.
